Obituary

September 3, 2014 our world changed. A beautiful boy was given to us. We became parents. Nathan spent his first month in the NICU because of a low heart rate. He was sent home Oct 4. Nathan wasn't developing like a normal baby but we just assumed it was because he was premature. When he was 4 months old he had his routine shots which caused him to have a fever. The fever brought out something we never expected...seizures. It was a rocky road trying to figure out answers until we went to LeBonheur Children's hospital in Memphis, TN in March of 2015. Nathan was diagnosed with Early Myoclonic Encephalopathy. This is an extremely rare epilepsy syndrome that meant his life here on earth wouldn't be as long as we wanted. I remember the doctor telling us to go home and enjoy every second with him. That is exactly what we did. We made memories. We went for walks. We went swimming. We sang songs. We snuggled. We took drives in the car. We did everything we could to make the best of the time we had. We made sure he got to meet a lot of people. We had our cameras ready to capture smiles and laughs. We knew a sickness would take him so we cared for him the best way we knew. June 26, 2016 our little Natey boy went to meet Jesus. He became an angel at 7:53 in the morning. He is now running the streets of Heaven with all those curls bouncing around. He is laughing and talking. He is sitting on the lap of Jesus singing all the songs we practiced. Matt and I don't want you to be sad. Be happy and excited for him as he is whole now and in the arms of our Lord. Matt and I are so blessed that the Lord chose us to have a borrowed angel.

Nathan was survived by his parents Matt and Christina McBride, maternal grandparents Joe and Cindy DiTommaso, paternal grandparents Shon and Becky McBride; great-grandparents, Carl Webster, Joseph and Madeline DiTommaso, Dr. Charles and Sidonia Kelsey and Nelda McBride; aunts and uncles, Cole McBride, Kelsey McBride and Joey and Chauntel DiTommaso; and, cousins Harmony, Lyric and JC .
