Obituary

Nicholas Anthony Colabella, 85, passed away on Monday, March 4th,2019, peacefully, in his sleep at home in Broken Arrow, Ok.  Nicholas was born to parents Anthony and Grace Colabella on November 26th, 1933 in Syracuse, NY. He was the twin brother of Frank Colabella.

Nicholas graduated from the Christian Brothers Academy in 1951.  He then went on to Le Moyne College and graduated on June 12, 1955 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Pure Science in Chemistry.  He also received a Master's in Business Administration. He participated in several extracurricular activities and sports including Chemistry Club, Clavius Club, Baseball, Men's Intramural, and Bowling.

Nicholas was drafted into the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 and was honorably discharged.  He later met his wife Lucia Zuppone in San Martino, Italy and later married her on February 22, 1969.  They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 22, 2019. They had 5 children.

Nicholas was a true family man.  He loved taking the family on trips and vacations to major parks and sites around the country and overseas to Italy.  He also shared a lot of his knowledge with his children at the dinner table with questions and examples. Dinnertime was a learning session.  He like teaching.

He traveled around the world a lot as an International Business Salesman.  He would bring us back gifts from other countries, and we would look forward to it.

Nicholas is survived by his wife Lucia; son Mark, daughters, Sonja, Sascha, Tanya, & Pamela; grandchildren, Ivan Lapchakov, Wyatt Palm, Brianna Amaro, Noah, Isabella, & Sophia Allen, and numerous relatives & friends in Oklahoma, New York, and San Martino, Italy.  He was preceded in death by son Jeremy Andrew, his twin brother Frank, and parents Grace and Anthony.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Broken Arrow, OK at 2:00 pm.  In the following weeks, he will be transported to San Martino, Italy where he will be laid to rest.
