Norma Jean Dempski, 88, of Tulsa, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015, in Greenville, South Carolina. Norma was born in Catale, Oklahoma on September 9, 1926 to Leona Beatrice Soukup and Frank Maggard. In April of 1949, she married the late Charles R. Dempski.
After graduating from Chelsea High School and then Draughn's Business College, she worked in accounting for a number of years. She also did volunteer work with the Tulsa Philharmonic and Saints Peter and Paul Church and School early in life. In her later years, she was a proud and dedicated volunteer at the Tulsa International Airport as an Airport Ambassador for 18 years. The last two years of her life were spent with her daughter in Greenville, SC.
Survivors include her daughter, Marcia Jean Suhrer and son-in-law, James H. Suhrer Jr., four grandchildren: Rachel Suhrer of Ashville, NC; Emily Suhrer of NYC, NY; Margaret Suhrer of Washington, DC; and Allison Suhrer of Greenville, SC; and sister, Joyce Josey, and her husband of Hempstead, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Frank Maggard, Jr. and Jimmy Maggard, and a sister, Doris Watts, of Big Cabin, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel, 1402 South Boulder Avenue, on Friday, June 5, 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at The Church of the Resurrection, 4804 S Fulton, on Saturday, June 6, at 10:00 AM and interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and close friends will meet after interment at the Family Life Center for a light lunch.
