Norma Louise Hayes
Norma was born Sept.28, 1914, the first child of Cecil and Elmer Coenen in Sapulpa, OK. She attended Sapulpa High School where she was Valedictorian of her senior class, as well as being very active in drama and school plays. Norma married Robert J. Hayes at an early age in Sapulpa. She and Bob had three children: Robert, Jr., Norma Louise Hayes Wright, and Nancy Ann Hayes McKee, all surviving. She retired from Executive secretarial work with the Corp of Engineers. Previous to that she was employed by Lubell Oil Co., and Liberty Glass in Sapulpa. Her husband Bob, predeceased her by 25 years, but they did celebrate a 55th anniversary, and remained devoted throughout their entire lives. She leaves six grandchildren whom were the other loves of her life; Wirt W. Cain, Jr., Kelly J. Cain, Susan L. Cain, Andrew Cain, and Jenny Joyce, and Kim Hayes. In addition there are 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She died at Franciscan Villa Nursing home, January 20, 2014, just a few months short of her 100th birthday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Norma, on Sat. the 25th of Jan., 11am, at Franciscan Villa Chapel with Fr. Wm. Swift officiating. In lieu of flowers, Norma has requested that Catholic Charities or Neighbor for Neighbor be remembered.
