Obituary
Norma J. Turnbow, age 86, died on Thursday, November 03, 2011, in Tulsa. Norma was born on December 28, 1924, to Josephine Fitzsimmons and Walter O'Reilly, a citizen of Ireland.
She was only two years old when her family immigrated to Canada in 1927. She graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1946. After graduation, she came to Tulsa to work at St. John's Hospital and worked in the obstetrics department for more than 47 years. Norma married medical student Richard Turnbow in 1950. She was a driving force behind the Tulsa Irish American Club and was an active member of the Holy Family Cathedral choir.
She is survived by her children Anne Turnbow and Evelyn Brown, both of Tulsa, grandchildren April Brown of Sapulpa, Ricky Brown of Okmulgee, Jennifer and Megan Leek , of Oklahoma City, and great-grandson Connor Graham.
Visitation will be 6-7 PM, Saturday, November 5, 2011, with a Rosary following at 7 PM, both at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Tuesday, November 8, at Holy Family Cathedral. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
