Obituary

Norman Fabes, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 4, 2018 at the age of 90. He passed suddenly from complications due to pneumonia. Norman is survived by his wife Estelle, of 69 years, sons Richard and Russell, daughter Rhonda Ginsburg, and grandchildren Sarah and Erin Ginsburg.

Born in 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri to Sam and Elsie Fabes, he graduated from Paseo High School and then graduated from the University of Missouri. Norman had a younger brother Eugene whom he loved dearly and preceded him in death. He met Estelle while they both lived in Kansas City. They moved to Oklahoma to help manage the family business and raised their family in Tulsa. Norman served honorably in the US Army and later became a successful stockbroker and financial manager, last employed by Morgan Stanley.

Norman enjoyed traveling, food, OU football, and being with family and friends. He had a loud voice and a large presence, with a lust for life. He and Estelle developed a large circle of deep friendships that lasted throughout their lives. His devotion to his wife and family was strong and grew even stronger with time, defining his last years and months. Norman will be missed intensely; however, his spirit will live on through his family and the many memories he has given them.

A funeral service will be held at Temple Israel on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, Norman's family suggests that those willing make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in his name ( https://www.alz.org/ ).
