OTTIS WILLIAM COOPER, age 84 was born in Brownwood, TX, May 19, 1929 to his parents: Turner Faulkner and Annie Lee Cooper. Ottis went to be with the lord Mon. Aug. 26, 2013. Ottis was preceded in death by his wife Lola and daughters, Lyn and Patty. He is survived by his son, Mike.
Ottis worked at Phillips Petroleum as a Sr. Computer Programmer Analyst and was responsible for writing intricate computer programs. In 1978, the family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL where Ottis continued his career with Phillips and accepted a transfer to Pier 66… which was a premier hotel and Yacht basin owned by Phillips Petroleum Co. Ottis was responsible for installing their very first "networked" computer system that allowed a central main frame processor to communicate with all reservations areas, restaurants, bars, gift shops and marina. Pretty much any place there was a cash register transaction the new system communicated all transactions data to the central processor and also stored guest reservations.
In 1981, the family moved back to Bartlesville, OK where Ottis completed his career with Phillips and eventually retired.
Shortly after Ottis retired, he and Lola decided to move to Tulsa, OK in 1992. They chose Tulsa for various reasons but mainly to be closer to their children and their families.
The family would like to recognize Grace Hospice for their outstanding care during Dad's illness.
