Obituary

Owen Edward Campbell passed away peacefully on August 28th, 2018 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. The son of Wilfred Ray and Katherine Norma Campbell, he was born on February the 4th, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was raised in Tulsa with his two loving parents and brother, Willis Campbell. He was a graduate of Will Rogers High School, class of 1976.

He had the privilege of marrying the love of his life, Karen Sue Giddens (now Campbell) on July 4th, 1976. He and Karen have had a long, loving and lasting relationship based in faith and family and they have served as a model of tireless dedication and devotion in their community. They were fortunate enough to have recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary.

He is preceded in death by his Father Ray, Mother Norma, sister Katherine, brother Bobby Ray, son Brandon, Grandson Brixton as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife Karen Campbell, his children, Jared Campbell (wife Jenette), Christina Graddy (husband Bill), Audrey Gibson (husband Joseph), Laura Butterworth (husband Ryan), his brother Willis Campbell (wife Heidi), and fourteen beloved grandchildren. Among many things, he will be remembered for his devotion to his wife and his Catholic faith. Owens greatest passions in life were his faith, his devotion to the Blessed Mother, his beloved wife Karen, his four children, his fourteen grandchildren and his best bud Tyler (a ferocious Teacup Maltese). An avid gun enthusiast, he had a passion for exercising his second amendment rights and he highly enjoyed gunsmithing.

He had a passion for the outdoors and spent every moment he could with his family and treasured friends at their lake house on Hudson. His greatest joys in life came from simply being with those he loved and watching his family grow year by year.

A rosary in celebration of the life of Owen will be held at 7:00pm on August 30th at Christ The King Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on August 31st at Christ The King Church as well with Monsignor Patrick Gaalaas presiding. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery and a subsequent reception will be held back at Christ the King following the burial. Arrangements have been made through Fitzgerald Funeral Services.  Pallbearers will be his nephew Aaron Campbell, dear friends Tim Wilson and Richie Cox, and his three sons-in-law, Bill Graddy, Joseph Gibson and Ryan Butterworth.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to all of the doctors and nurses with the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, as well as all of the other individuals who have influenced the lives of the Campbell family throughout this process.

Should family or friends desire, memorial donations may be sent in Owens honor to Saints Peter & Paul School of Tulsa to help provide a Catholic education to those in need.
