Patrice Frank Snitz was born on March 6, 1953, the second of four children to John E Frank, Elizabeth Frank, and Patricia Frank in Dover, New Jersey. Patrice served as active duty in the Army from 1972-1975 and then Reserves in the Army and Navy until 1979, after which she was honorably discharged. She then traveled the country, living a nomadic lifestyle ranging from Virginia to Texas to California and everywhere between until 1985. Patrice was a devoted Paramedic for over 40 years in Virginia, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa. In her later years, she fell in love with teaching in the medical field as well as in the local Jewish community. She was a beloved mother, sister, Bubbe, friend, teacher, paramedic, chef, and veteran.
Pat had a deep love for learning people's stories - she often spoke about this being the best part of her caregiving-centric career. Known to be a "walking history book," she particularly loved 13th-17th century Western European History. For the last decade and a half of her life, she was incredibly active in the Tulsa Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) community - cooking, camping, and sword fighting. Pat always kept you on your toes with all she fit into her nearly 72 years of life. From following the Rolling Stones, to traveling with a carnival manning the dart throwing contest, to working in 911 call centers, to being a published poetry author, her life was full of diverse interests.
Pat died peacefully at her home surrounded by her son and daughter in Tulsa, OK on March 1, 2025. She is survived by her sisters Kay Larson and Stephanie (Ron) Roepke; children, George (Stephanie) Snitz and Rose Snitz; and her grandchildren Jay and Audrey. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Frank, John Frank, and Patricia Frank; brother Eric Frank; and brothers-in-law Joe Guistinianni and Bob Larson.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, 1:00pm at Congregation B'nai Emunah in Tulsa, OK. Later that same day, the family will sit Shiva at 5:30pm in the Synagogue in Tulsa. Additional Shiva services will take place at Congregation Beth Elohim in Brooklyn, NY on Thursday, March 6th, and Wednesday, March 12th, from 7:00pm - 9:00pm with Minyan at 7:30pm.
