Obituary

Patricia May Alexander Frohnapfel passed away peacefully on December 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born on June 9th, 1924 in Antlers, Oklahoma, Choctaw Country, to May Ledonia Maytubby and James Milton Alexander. Pat grew up in McAlester, Oklahoma, and graduated high school in 1942, whereupon she moved to Tulsa to begin Business College. After graduation, Pat worked at Spartan Aeronautics during the war.  She and William J. Frohnapfel married on November 28th, 1946, at Christ the King Church in Tulsa. She worked at Shell Oil while Bill finished his business degree at the University of Tulsa.

Pat and Bill began their family with the birth of their son, Billy, with Susan, Sandy, Terry and Patty to follow. They were founding members of St. Mary Catholic Church, where their five children attended school, and where many lifetime memories and milestones were commemorated. Pat enjoyed volunteering at the school and church; during her children's school years she was a Girl Scout leader and was a constant presence at her sons' baseball games. Later, she assisted Father Jack Gleason in the church office, taught preschool Sunday School, and also volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House.

After her husband died, Pat traveled extensively throughout Europe and the U.S; she enjoyed visiting holy shrines and cathedrals with the St. Mary's choir group. Her faith was very important to her which she effortlessly illustrated by living a life of devotion to the Lord. Most of all, Pat loved her family and showered them with love and affection; her family was the center of her life. A few characteristics of Pat were her optimism, charitableness and her sense of humor. She will also be remembered as a kind and gentle mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend to all who knew her. She taught us by her good natured example to face life's challenges with quiet determination and grace.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bill, after 44 years of marriage; son, William J. Frohnapfel, Jr., and daughter, Susan Elizabeth Frohnapfel Bartlett. She is survived by daughters, Sandy Rodolf and Patty McMahon; son, Terry Frohnapfel; grandchildren, Dewey Bartlett III, Caroline Rodolf, Brendan Rodolf, Allie Day, Matthew McMahon, B.J. Frohnapfel, Sarah Frohnapfel; and great-grandchildren; Cogan, Griffin, Cooper, and Dewey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of St. Mary, 1347 E. 49th Place, Tulsa, with interment at Calvary Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Pat with contributions to the Church of St. Mary, or to the School of St. Mary.
