Obituary

Patricia Anne Arend, 69, a long-time resident of Tulsa, passed from this life and into the presence of our Lord on Saturday, June 18, 2011 after a courageous struggle. She was born in Thermopolis, Wyoming on December 29, 1941, one of two children born to Joseph and Harriett Donovan. Tricia attended high school in Casper, Wyoming and college at the University of Colorado.
Tricia was loved dearly by her family and friends from all over the world. She was the glue that held her family together, and her loss leaves a hole that can never be filled. She was smart, loving, generous, kind and thoughtful. She would have gladly given her life for her family and they are heartbroken to have seen it taken from her. She will be lovingly remembered as a precious daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend and role model to so many. This beautiful woman will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew her.
Tricia was actively involved in the Junior League of Tulsa and Asbury Methodist Church. She was a long-time member of Southern Hills Country Club and a board member of Resonance, Hillcrest Hospital and 12 & 12. Tricia was an active supporter of the Child Abuse Network, Humane Society of Tulsa, Brush Creek Ranch and many others, and also was an advocate of many women's support groups.
Tricia was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Donovan and is survived by her wonderful mother, Harriett Donovan of Tulsa; her loving husband, John R. Arend of Tulsa; her brother, Michael Donovan of Medford, Oregon; her children, Tiffany and Stuart Campbell of Tulsa, Denny Arend of Tulsa, and John and Zoe Arend of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, Patrick and Shana Arend of Tulsa; step-grandchildren Sarah, Spencer and Sawyer Campbell of Tulsa; her great-grandson, Madden Arend of Tulsa; and will be forever loved by many wonderful friends and extended family throughout the world.
"There is one less beautiful flower in our garden, but there is one more bright star shining in the heavens."
A celebration of Tricia's life will be held in the sanctuary at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6767 South Mingo Road, Tulsa, OK on Saturday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m. Friends can honor Tricia's memory with donations to the ASPCA at www.aspca.org .
