Patricia "Pat" McCaffree Barnard, age 83, died on June 5, 2023, in Tulsa, OK.

Patricia was born on March 14, 1940 in Tulsa, OK, to parents L. A. McCaffree and Cleo Schroeder McCaffree. She graduated from Stillwater High School in the class of 1958, then furthered her education by obtaining a degree in Biological Science, from Oklahoma State University. On December 18,1960, she married David A. Barnard, her High School Sweetheart, while they were both attending Oklahoma State. Their eldest daughter, Lisa, was born March 1962. Upon graduation, they made their home in Tulsa, OK, where she was accepted into the School of Medical Technology at Hillcrest Hospital. David began his career as a High School Chemistry teacher.

In 1963, she accepted a position as a medical technologist at Palick-Nelson Laboratory. She worked there as well as at Springer Clinic and other laboratories for about 25 years. During this time, their other children were born: Nathan, March 1967, son Gregory, March 1968, daughter Laura, July 1975, and daughter Kristina, November 1984. After her long career as a medical technologist, Patricia began a career as an adjunct professor at Tulsa Community College teaching Nutrition, which she dearly loved.

Throughout her life, Patricia was an active church member at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Tulsa, OK and later Trinity Presbyterian Church, Bixby, OK. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. In addition to volunteering, Patricia also gave generously to the Salvation Army, St. Joseph's Indian School, and the Community Food Bank. She enjoyed many hand crafts like sewing, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and later in life, quilting. Though she enjoyed those hobbies, her large family was her pride and joy. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and held them close to her heart and kept close attention to the activities and antics of her grandchildren.

Her family and friends will always remember her as an independent, loving, generous person with an impish sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, David A. Barnard, her five children and their spouses Lisa Barnard Stubblefield and husband Randy, Nathan Barnard, wife Robin Bass Barnard and their children Skyler Roberts and family, Eathan, Aidan, and Ella Barnard, Greg Barnard, wife M. Alisa Thomason Barnard, and their children Barrett and Dalton Barnard, Laura Barnard Cowan, husband Chris , and their children Hannah and Noah Cowan, and Kristina Barnard Norford, husband Dan, and their daughter Evie Norford. She is also survived by her brother Dr. D. Robert McCaffree and wife Dr. Mary Anne McCaffree and their children Sarah McCaffree and Matthew McCaffree and his family.

She is preceded in death by her parents L.A. McCaffree and Cleo Schroeder McCaffree and other beloved family members.

A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, June 8th from 6:00-8:00pm at Southwood Colonial Chapel. A family graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery Friday, 2:00pm. Her memorial service will be held at 2:00pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 9303 E 111th St South, Bixby, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army, Tulsa Day Center, or her other charitable causes.
