Patricia Marie Davenport passed away on January 14, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on June 6, 1943 in Wetzel, West Virginia to parents, Robert and Carolyn. She was the 3rd of 4 daughters and sister to Carole, Roberta and Marsha.
Pat began her education while her family resided in Chicago, Illinois where she enjoyed art and sports. She attended high school in Tulsa, Oklahoma after her family moved there in 1958. She graduated from Central High School in 1961. Pat then graduated with her Bachelor's Degree from Northwestern State College in 1967 and completed her Master's Degree in Education at the University of Oklahoma in 1973.
She moved to Oklahoma City and worked for the Department of Human Services in Child Protective Services. Pat's career of service continued when she later moved to Tulsa teaching for Tulsa Public Schools. Pat taught Special Education for over 30 years at TPS schools including Lewis and Clark Middle School and McClain High School. She retired in 2009.
Pat loved animals and shared her life with many dogs and cats over the years, including many rescues that seemed to find her. She also had a passion for nature and photography, often combining the two when traveling with friends. Her hobbies included daily walks with her dogs, camping and hiking in Colorado and other areas of natural beauty. She volunteered for both the Oxley Nature Center, the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve and Tulsa Central High School Foundation.
Pat was survived by her brother-in-law, Charles Butera, and 13 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered as a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, caregiver and teacher. She will also be cherished for her intelligence, her love of family, her quick whit, and her sense of humor.
