Patricia was born May 13, 1950 in Troy, New York, daughter of George Welch and the late Dorothy Kennedy Welch of Wynantskill, New York. She was a 1968 graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY where she was Vice President of her class of 800. She went on to earn her BS degree in Nursing from Mt. St. Mary's and he was in his final year at West Point. They married a year after graduation in 1973 and spent the past 39 years as soul mates enjoying a rich wonderful life together.
As a nurse Pat's career spanned 5 decades of service teaching at two colleges, receiving a distinguished service medal as a civilian counseling post-Vietnam troops in Europe, delivering babies, Public Health, ER and Hospice retiring in 2012.
Her pride and joy were her children seeing them become good, contributing members of society. She was a strong, devout Catholic actively involved in her parish of St. Bernard's and a true spiritual matriarch of the family.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Donahue, children Kathleen, Brian along with his fiancé Trier, and Shawn all of Tulsa. She is also survived by her father George Welch, brother Bob and family all from Wynantskill, NY and her brother Scott and family from East Amherst, NY.
Pat was a genuine person, loved by many for her innate honesty, leadership, selflessness, and ability to go the extra mile to help anyone.
Though she will be deeply missed, knowing God is "holding her in the palm of His hand" is a great solace to all of her family and friends throughout the world.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8pm at Fitzgerald's Southwood Colonial Chapel 3692 East 91st St. (918-291-3500) Funeral Mass will be 2 PM Friday at St. Bernards Catholic Church in South Tulsa.
