Patricia Martell, age 85, passed away August 29, 2019 from complica􀀠ons of a hip fracture. Patricia was
born on April 30th, 1934, the daughter of Fred and Margaret Bowers. Patricia grew up around the San
Francisco Bay area of California where her father worked as a chemical engineer. The family later
moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma and then to Cactus, Texas where her father worked for Phillips
Petroleum Company. It was in Cactus, Texas that she met her beloved husband of 56 years, Paul.
Patricia a􀀰ended Texas State College for Women in Denton, Texas for two years prior to marriage. A􀀳er
marriage, Patricia and Paul moved mul􀀠ple 􀀠mes throughout the west un􀀠l they se􀀰led in Idaho Falls,
Idaho where they spent a few years raising young children and enjoying 􀀠me in the same city as
Patricia's immediate family. From 1965 to 1986, Patricia and her husband se􀀰led in Bartlesville, OK to
raise the family un􀀠l Paul's re􀀠rement. For Patricia these were very happy years spent with lots of good
friends from St James Catholic church, the neighborhood, and acquaintances made through the years.
In 1986, Patricia and Paul moved to Stevens Point, WI for a final work-life adventure which was near
Paul's family. Patricia enjoyed exploring regionally and spending 􀀠me with the many rela􀀠ves sca􀀰ered
throughout the area, especially with Paul's five sisters. Finally, in 1992, they re􀀠red permanently in
Tulsa, OK to be near immediate family. Patricia was a great homemaker, loved an􀀠ques, did numerous
cra􀀳s like kni􀀺ng, croche􀀠ng, sewing, needlepoint, quil􀀠ng, and sketching through the years. She
enjoyed gardening, shopping, and travel. She also had a very strong affec􀀠on for animals, especially in
her later years. But her favorite thing in life was spending 􀀠me with her family. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Paul Martell. She is survived by sons, Craig, Paul (Deborah), and James
(Stephanie) Martell, and daughter Mary Ann (Chris) Duke. Patricia is further survived by her sister
Virginia Bowers. She leaves behind several beloved grandchildren, Kristen, Ashley (Fromm), Jason,
Ma􀀰hew, Michael, and Jonathan Martell, and Taylor and Stephen Duke. She also leaves behind a sisterin-
law, Sr. Lillian Martell, and many special nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held October
17, 2019 at 2 pm at Calvary Cemetery.
