Patricia Jane Rohleder died December 3rd at the age of 93. Born in Cambria, Wisconsin, she graduated from Franklin College, Franklin Indiana, magna cum laude, in 1945. At Franklin, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, president of Theta Alpha Phi, the International Relations Club, and the Women's Self-Governing group. She earned her masters in English and Theatre at the University of Tulsa in 1967.
Theatre was a vital part of her life, beginning with a simple role in a summer camp play at age six and progressing, in later years, to the portrayal of characters from Tennessee Williams, Noel Coward, Moliere, Chekhov, and many more. From 1966 through 1988, she worked with virtually every theatre group in Tulsa. For more than seven years, she presented her published play, Solitaire, along with an acting workshop in Tulsa schools. In 2011, her book, A Little Kansas House, was printed by Mennonite Press and stocked at Barnes and Noble. Her acting textbook, You Got the Part!, was printed in 2013. Patricia also volunteered in several areas: offering theatre exercises in the Margaret Hudson program, helping in the "First Offender" program, and serving as a Literacy Tutor for the Tulsa City-County Library system.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her sibling, Gilbert, her husband of 70 years, and her son, Mike. Sitting in her favorite chair, she was surrounded by pictures of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she so loved. She is survived by her children: son Chuck and wife Jane, Shan and husband Clyde, and Emily; her daughter-in-law Addie and husband Tom; her grandchildren: Julie and husband Bret, Marc and wife Jennifer, Andrew and wife Cassi, Will and wife Brooke, Charlie and wife Anna, and Nicholaus as well as her great-grandchildren Joshua, Caitlyn, Emma, Luke, Olivia, John, Madison, Rylan, Lucy, Waite, and Antonio.
