Obituary

Patrick Lawrence Diver, 60, lost his fight to remain on this Earth on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. Patrick was born Sept. 24, 1957, in Tulsa, Okla., to John and Elaine Diver. He was the third of seven children.

He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa and then attended Oklahoma State University, graduating from OSU with a degree in forestry. He never worked as a forester but instead bought his own forest in the Ozarks after he worked in Houston for Amoco as a data analyst. At the time of his death, he was working for BSNF logistics in Springdale, Ark., as a data architect.

Patrick battled for his life after a complex heart surgery in November. He survived multiple code blues and other setbacks, including a trip to Oklahoma City in EMSA while on ECMO. He was very proud that he survived and thrived to return home to his cherished 3-D Acres in the Ozarks. But more important, he was able to return to those he loved. He overcame so much and got his wish due to his extreme determination and stubbornness.

A soccer enthusiast, he started playing at the age of 11 and continued for the rest of his life.  He was loved by his fellow soccer brethren, which includes players, coaches and referees. Patrick was a loyal Oranje (Netherlands) supporter, yet his family still loved him. Above all he always be a Gunner (Arsenal) for life.

Patrick was also a gifted musician, a music enthusiast and an outdoorsman. He spent many a day hiking on his land in the Ozarks with his granddaughter Taegen, and often those hikes included his cats, dogs and horses.

Above all, he was a gentle, caring soul, a loving husband, father, grandpa and beloved Daken.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Debbie, his daughter, Brynnan, and granddaughter Taegen Diver, all of the home. He is also survived by his sons, Mark Tate of Fayetteville, N.C., and Jeff Tate of Sapulpa, Okla.; grandchildren Natalynn, Nathan and Ashlyn Tate, of Sapulpa; his six siblings and their spouses, Mike Diver and Linda Shackelford of Pleasant Hill, Iowa.; Margaret Holt of Tulsa; Steve and Terry Diver of Lexington, Ky.; Chris and Jerri Diver of Tahlequah, Okla.; Tim and Michelle Diver of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and Danny Diver of Tulsa. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who meant the world to him.

A celebration of Patrick's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April, 7, at the Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 E. 91st Street, in Tulsa.
