Obituary

Patrick J. Clancy passed away at age 91. He was born in Springfield, Illinois, on November 27th, 1924, the son of Patrick Joseph Clancy and Anna Marie Faith. Patrick married the love of his life, Barbara Clancy, on December 29th, 1945.

Patrick was a whimsical man known for his jokes and stand-up comedy. He was a WWII Veteran, headed the grassroots movement to get Ross Perot on the ballot in Oklahoma, and was on the Larry King show.  He was also a long time member of Church of the Madalene.

Patrick was preceded in death by his son, Patrick (Mike) Clancy. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Barbara Clancy; his sons, Terry Clancy and wife Debi, and Tim Clancy and wife Marilyn; grandchildren: Paul Clancy, Michele Clancy, Heather Clancy Smith, Sean Clancy, Christine Clancy and Megan Clancy; and great-grandchildren, Aidan Clancy, Tiernan Clancy, Chance Clancy and Shay Smith.

Patrick was known for telling jokes such as, "I don't like to brag, but when I was in the army I destroyed two tanks, shot down two planes, and blew up a barrack that had 100 men in it…then they sent me overseas!" His jokes will always be remembered.

Rosary will be Wednesday, 7:30 pm, and Funeral Mass Thursday, 10 am, both at the Church of the Madalene.
