Obituary

Penny Mason Lehman, 77, of Tulsa passed away peacefully on June 30th in the presence of her family surrounded by love and prayers. Penny, lovingly referred to as "Mimi" was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her most cherished moments involved the quiet and quality times spent with her husband, sons, and their families. She enjoyed everything about nature, gardening and reading. Penny was born on June 2, 1937 and was adopted when she was eight days old by Dana and Wantha Mason. She lived the first ten years of her life in Shidler, Oklahoma later moving to several small Oklahoma "company" towns where her father managed gasoline plants for the Phillips Petroleum Company. Penny graduated from Midwest City High School in 1955 where she was named Bomber Girl of the Year. After high school Penny attended Oklahoma State University for one year before moving to Bartlesville to work for Phillips. There she met and married Donald R. Lehman on August 2, 1958. They remained in Bartlesville until moving to Tulsa in 1972. During their years in Bartlesville they had two sons Donnie and Tommy. In 1971 Penny began work for Cities Service Oil Company where she held various positions in human resources and information systems. She retired in 1991 as the director of the outplace-ment career centers for Occidental Petroleum.
Penny is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald R. Lehman and her sons and daughters in law, Donald Mason and Laura Cline Lehman, and Thomas Brian and Michelle Cook Lehman. Penny was adored by her six grandchildren who brought her so much joy: Mason, Josie, Claire, Kate, Ben and Sam. She was known for the quality time spent with each one of them, sharing stories, playing games, decorating cookies, and loving each one unconditionally. Penny was a true blessing from God to all who knew her and she will live in our hearts forever. Funeral: 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 918-291-3500. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Emergency Infant Services EIS 222 S. Houston Ave. Tulsa, OK 74127
