Bardgett, Ralph John, 77, passed away on January 25. Born in St Louis, Mo in 1931, He was a graduate of Tulsa's Marquette High and then attended the University of Tulsa where he received his Bachelor of Arts. With his passion for journalism he worked for KTUL, KAKC, then KOTV from 1954 to 1976. He was a pioneer during the early days of television when most shows seen were live and produced and directed, such shows as Dance Party and the news. With his desire to share his knowledge of media he went on to finish his education getting his masters at CMSU and his doctorate at the University of Texas. He taught Communication Law at Sam Houston State, SMU, the University of Miami, and then back to Warrensburg Mo at CMSU. While at Warrensburg he became active in the church and community with his participation in the Food Center, Community Clothes Closet, and the Warrensburg Social Concern Commission. For his work he received the Robbie Robinson Service Award and Sullivan Award from the Catholic Diocese. Ralph spent his life in service helping others because he loved everyone he met. He is survived by his sister Marion Spanke, son Nathan, daughters Shawna Clark, Jayna Knapp, Susan Walker, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Rosary will be 7:00pm at Church of the Resurrection on January 30, 2009 and 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial on January 31, 2009.
