WILDEY – Ralph Leon Wildey, age 91, passed away on December 14, 2013, at his home in Jenks after a yearlong battle with cancer. Born in Beggs, OK, on November 22, 1922, he was the son of Walter and Myrtle Wildey. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Ruth, his brother Virgil of Lago Vista, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by his brothers Keith and Jack.
Graduating from Jenks High School in 1941, he assembled airplanes in San Diego, CA before serving his country during WWII in the Merchant Marine, sailing to ports around the world and tracking his journeys on a world map that he later proudly displayed on his living room wall. After the war, he worked for Waukesha Motor Company before beginning his primary career in 1950 in facility maintenance at the Amoco Research Center in Tulsa, where he retired in 1981. He and Betty then began to enjoy their golden years between Jenks and their vacation house on Grand Lake, which Ralph constructed from the ground up over the preceding decade. In addition to being a long time resident of Jenks, Ralph was an avid Trojans Football fan, spending many a Friday night in the stands.
Services will held on Tuesday December 17, at 10:30 am, at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel in Tulsa. He will be buried in Calvary Cemetery, Tulsa.
