George Richard "Dick" Dibble, 75, of Tulsa, peacefully passed with his family by his side on Thursday, March 12, 2020.
Dick was born on June 2, 1944, in Richmondville, New York, the son of Randall and Phyllis (Proper) Dibble. He grew up there, and stayed until he moved to Florida in 1962. While there, he worked for NASA, and was a part of the space program when the United States successfully landed on the moon.
On August 3, 1968, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Horton. After their marriage, they spent one year in Florida, before relocating to Tulsa, Oklahoma. They enjoyed raising their family in Tulsa, and have many wonderful memories here. They were active members of Asbury United Methodist Church, having been members for almost 40 years. While in Tulsa, he had a successful career in sales, which he loved. He will be remembered as a passionate, dedicated, and consummate professional.
Dick was a talented gardener, and had the greenest yard in the neighborhood. He enjoyed hunting, and anything relating to the outdoors. He was an avid sports fan. The Los Angeles Dodgers were his favorite baseball team.
Dick was a kind, loving, and caring husband. He was an amazing dad, and enjoyed fatherhood with his whole heart. His children's friends considered him a 2nd dad that they also loved and looked up to growing up. Dick was an involved dad, and coached his son's little league team, etc. He was interested in every aspect of their lives, and they knew how much they were loved. He was a fun grandpa to his four granddaughters, and they have many happy memories of him, and his mischievous ways. He was always stealing their noses, hiding their shoes, etc… he had a way of making them feel special.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, daughter, Darci Zoellner, her husband, Philip, of Tulsa, son, Daren Dibble, and his wife, Bethany, of Friendswood, TX, granddaughters, Zeta Zoellner, Zody Zoellner, Kailee Dibble, and Katherine Dibble, and sister, Joan Lee, of Cumming, Georgia, and numerous other extended family members and friends.
