Richard Lloyd Fricker passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Friday, September 12, 2014. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on June 3, 1945, to parents Richard and Wilma (Brooks) Fricker. After serving in the US Navy during the VietNam War, he was able to take up his love of the written word and became a journalist and poet. He wrote for many publications over the years, most often about politics, and was a contributor to: American Bar Association Journal, Tulsa Voice, Oklahoma Observer and Oklahoma Eagle.
The motto which Richard particularly identified with and lived by was: "Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable". He was a longtime member of Christ the King Church and was active in Knights of Columbus.
Richard is survived by his wife, Belinda, and his children, Rick Peterson, Heather Gantt and Austin Fricker.
Rosary will be Wednesday, September 17, 2014, 7:00 p.m., and Funeral Mass will be Thursday, September 18, 2014, 10:00 a.m., both at Christ the King Catholic Church, Tulsa, OK.
