Dr. Richard (Dick) Turnbow, age 91, died on August 19, 2011, in Tulsa. He was born in Drumright, OK, on July 24, 1920, to parents Katy and Aaron Turnbow.
He served in the Air Force during World War II. He graduated from Chicago College of Podiatry and practiced in Tulsa many years. Dick loved to do carpentry work, was a member of the Irish American Club, and played the drunkard in the play "The Drunkard", for many years.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Leek, and is survived by his wife Norma, daughters Anne Turnbow and Evelyn Brown, grandchildren April, Ricky, Bandon, Megan and Jennifer, and great-grandson Connor.
Viewing will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., and Rosary will be 7:00 p.m., both on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 2, 2011, at Holy Family Cathedral.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Catholic Charities.
