Obituary

Robert Ramsay, 79, CEO and owner of the R&D Pattern & Foundry Co., Inc. passed away at Hillcrest Medical Center on October 29, 2015. Mr. Ramsay died peacefully surrounded by his family.

Mr. Ramsay was the third child and only son, born on October 24, 1936, of Hendry E. and Florence L. Ramsay. He was a native of Sand Springs, OK and graduated from Charles Page High School in 1955; then attended Northeast Oklahoma State University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961.

Robert Served as President, and later as CEO, of R&D Pattern and Foundry Co. Inc. Under his management R&D evolved from a small pattern tooling and model works to a producer of high quality nonferrous castings. R&D was founded by Mr. Ramsay's grandfather, also Robert Ramsay, and his father H.E. Ramsay in 1927. The company continues to operate under the leadership of Mr. Ramsay's son Scott Ramsay.

Mr. Ramsay was a long time member at the Holy Family Catholic Church. He served in many service and professional organizations including: American Legion Post #1, Elks Lodge, American Foundry Society (AFS), Tulsa Area Manufacturer's Association (TAMA), Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and American Society of Metals (ASM).

Mr. Ramsay is survived by his wife Rosa Ramsay; three sisters, Mrs. Margret Lingo, Mrs. Dorthy (Vernon) Plouch and Mrs. Alma (Gary) Buscomb. He has five children, Chris (Darlene) Ramsay, John Ramsay, Scott (Amanda) Ramsay and Marc (Judith) Ramsay, and Patricia Ramsay. He is the stepfather of Kathy Doll and Martin Ryan. He had ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Cathedral on Tuesday, November 3, at 2:00 p.m. A gathering of friends and family will be held at American Legion Post No. 1 immediately following the mass.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the American Legion Post No. 1, 1120 East 8th Street, Tulsa, OK 74120
or the Holy Family Catholic Church,122 West 8th Street, Tulsa, OK 74119 .
