Obituary

Roger H. Scarborough, 72, of Tulsa, died Aug 1, 2013 at home after a long battle with brain cancer.

He was born in Valliant, Oklahoma July 12, 1941 to Barnett (Doc) & Marie (Rogers) Scarborough. He graduated from Valliant High School in 1959 and married Sarah Tuck with whom he had two children, Barnett Edward (Barney) and Annette Marie Scarborough. He joined the Air Force in 1959 and received an honorable discharge in 1963. He was a policeman with the Oklahoma City police department for a year and a half and then started his long career with State Farm Insurance Companies in 1965. In 1977 he married Becky Huddleston and she had two children Shelly Ann and Wade Allen Huddleston. They moved to Wichita Falls, TX, where he was an agent with State Farm and retired December 31, 2002. As an agent and agency manager with State Farm for 38 years, he won many awards and honors and always said he was blessed to be a part of the State Farm family.

His real passion was missionary work in Mexico and teaching God's word in prisons and where ever he could. He and his wife, Becky, have spent 20 years ministering in Mexico with their longtime friends David & Amelia Ramirez of Wichita Falls, Texas. They also enjoyed cycling and were members of the Wichita Falls and Tulsa Bicycle Clubs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Steve Marece, and a sister Cathryn Marie.

Survivors include wife, Becky Scarborough, of the home; daughter, Annette Moore, Edmond, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Barney & Anita Scarborough, Stillwater, OK; step-daughter and son-in-law, Shelly & Greg Hannaford, Tulsa; step-son and daughter-in law, Wade & Kay Huddleston, Tulsa; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Clint McMullin, Oklahoma City; 5 step-brothers and 1 step-sister, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and wonderful, loving friends.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 East 91st Street, Tulsa. Services will be Monday, August 5, 2:00 p.m., at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 5590 S. Lewis Ave, Tulsa. There will be a private interment.
