Rose Marie Huibsch, nee Benning, age 89, resident of Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, Ill., passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 at Anderson Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born May 16, 1930 in Bridgewater, S.D., Rose moved with her family as a young girl to Iowa Falls. It was there she met her future husband, Edmund, before he was drafted and served in the US Navy. Upon his return from the service, they were married. They moved to Tulsa, Okla. where Edmund was employed by Douglas Corp. She was a vehicle transporter for Hertz Rental for 28 years. She attended Christ the King Catholic Church, enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, cooking, fishing, and being outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edmund in 1999; and her daughter Cindy Potts in 2007.
Surviving are her children Jeanne (Kim) Schwarz of O'Fallon, Ill., Steve (Melissa) Huibsch of Phoenix, Ariz., grandchildren Jenna and Karen Schwarz, Shaun (Alissa) and Taryn Huibsch, and Kristen Archer; three great-grandchildren Gavin, Emma, and Harper; and her sister Vi Rhoades of Tigard, Ore.

A Memorial Service was held in Illinois on Thursday, September 26th.
A local Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel Family Center, with in-nichement to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
