Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Rose Frances (Antonietti) Karlovich announces her peaceful passing on May 9, 2016. Rose, the oldest daughter of James J. and Minnie May Antonietti was born March 21, 1923 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Bob. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Mary Ann Wilburn; son, Bob, Jr. and wife, Marcie; daughter, Deborah Ann Miller and husband, Keith; son, Richard Allen and wife, Vicki; daughter, Mary Martin and husband, Mac; as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
As a young adult Rose played the accordion and entertained at USO events during World War II. In 1945 she married Bob, the love of her life, whom she met at Oklahoma A&M (OSU). After the war they moved to St. Louis, and later, Tulsa, where Rose and Bob started their family and became founding members of the Church of Saint Mary. Rose was an excellent cook and often invited the church priest, Fr. Beckerle, who lived behind them, to join their young family for Sunday meals.
Rose was a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital, participated in many charity activities, loved to play cards with her friends and especially enjoyed evening poker games with her family. She and Bob also enjoyed golf and socializing at Oaks Country Club, since 1959. Rose and Bob made Christmas a special event, which often included a house full of family members and friends. Her grandkids will always hold a place in their hearts for "Nanny" and the times they spent at her home.
Rosary will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 13th, in the Chapel at Montereau, 68th and South Granite Avenue, with a Reception immediately following. A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 14th at Church of St. Mary, 1347 East 49th Place, Tulsa. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. The family extends its gratitude to the excellent caregivers at Montereau, as well as, St. John and St. Francis Hospitals.
