Obituary

Rose C. Mishler, 97, joined our Lord and Savior on Friday, January 8, 2010. She was born on April 2, 1912 to Andrew and Victoria Hornyak in South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Harold M. Mishler to whom she was married for 57 years. Also preceding her in death were her sisters Mary Pinkola and Helene Ladewski and brothers William and Stephen Hornyak. Rose was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter Christine Miller and husband Ray Jr. of Tulsa, OK and her son Dennis Mishler and wife Barbara of Owasso, OK. She is also survived by her grandsons, Ray Miller III and Vincent Miller of Tulsa, Brian Mishler of Severna Park, MD and Scott Mishler of Rochester Hills, MI, granddaughters Connie Whitworth and Melanie Miller of Park City, UT, along with 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Before retiring to Tulsa, Oklahoma she and her husband lived in South Bend as well as in Brazil and Mexico City. She is remembered by her family for her culinary skill with Hungarian cooking, her sense of humor and good nature as well as her expertise doing the Charleston, which she performed even while in a wheelchair. Much appreciation is due to Burgundy Place Senior Living Community, Park's Edge Nursing Home and St. Francis Hospital for the loving care provided. Services will be held at Fitzgerald's Southwood Colonial Chapel on Wednesday, January 13 at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place in South Bend, Indiana.
