Obituary

Rosemary Allen Daugherty, 92, died peacefully at her Tulsa home on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.

Rosemary was born on January 18, 1919 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of William Odis (W.O.) and Rose Priester Allen and grew up in Tulsa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W.O. and Rose Allen; two brothers, William Odis Allen II of Tulsa and Robert Nelson Allen of Miami, Florida; her close cousin, Patsy Priester Bartlett of Ponca City, and her son, Philip Michael Daugherty of Oklahoma City.
She attended Marquette Elementary School, Monte Cassino High School, Saint Mary's of the Woods College, and received her Bachelors' Degree from the University of Oklahoma. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority at OU.

She and her husband, James William (Bill) Daugherty, were married November 6, 1941 at Christ the King Church in Tulsa where they have been members ever since. She and Bill made their home in Tulsa where they raised their five children. She was a den mother with the Cub Scouts during her sons' scouting years and was also very active with the Tulsa Boys' Home where she served as the President of the Women's Auxiliary.

Bill and Rosemary were active for many years with local swim clubs while their daughters were active swimmers. She and Bill were members of Southern Hills Country Club for fifty years. They enjoyed travel and were able to visit Hawaii, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean.

She is survived by her two sons, Bill Daugherty and wife, Carol, of Muskogee and Bob Daugherty of Chicago; and two daughters, Patricia Jarvis of Tulsa, and Terry Henry of Dallas. She is survived by grandchildren, William Jarvis and his son Maddox; Kelly Jarvis of Tulsa; Phil Jernigan of Vancouver, B.C.; and Cash Daugherty, Savannah Daugherty, and Lilly York of Oklahoma City.

Rosemary's family is especially appreciative of caregivers Linda Weatherford, Jan Bledsoe, Lorie Bledsoe, Bobbie Gore, and Linda Rains, who have made the quality of her life wonderful during her later years.

Rosary will be 6:30 p.m., Monday and Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Tuesday, both at Christ the King Catholic Church.
