Rosemary Gavin, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away at her home at the age of 84.
Born to Joseph and Helen Gavin in Alton, IL on September 21, 1935, Rosemary was the third of four children. After the family moved to Tulsa, OK, Rosemary attended St. Francis grade school and graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in the class of 1953.
Rosemary worked for many years at Sunray D-X Oil Company and Zebco, with the majority of her career spent working in the Radiology department at Tulsa Regional Medical Center, now the OSU Medical Center.
Rosemary was a gifted photographer with a talent for photo tinting. She had a curious mind and was a constant learner, submersing herself in subjects she was passionate about, such as natural health and healing, gardening, yoga, cooking and computers. She was known for her indefatigable work ethic, sharp wit, innate good taste and her loving care and compassion for those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Gavin; niece, Mary Nevins; and brother-in-law, Reed Nevins. She is survived by her siblings, Jack Gavin and his wife, Martha, of Mustang, OK; Joan Nevins of Tulsa, OK; and Anne Hackl and her husband, Richard, of Tulsa, OK; her many nieces and nephews, Mike Nevins and his wife, Laurie, of Tulsa, OK; Cathy Nevins Burke and her husband, Jim, of Wright City, MO; Jim Nevins and his wife, Becky, of Fort Worth, TX; Tom Nevins of Tulsa, OK; Kelly Hackl Kleiner and her husband, Lloyd, of Tulsa, OK; Scott Hackl of Flower Mound, TX; Sharon Hackl of Tulsa, OK; and Mark Hackl and his wife, Ping, of Tulsa, OK; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Lindsey Nevins Chapman, Kyle Nevins, Dustin Wheeler, Tim Wheeler, John Nevins, James Nevins, Jason Nevins, Denise Nevins Jenson, Adam Kleiner, Kathryn Kleiner, Marissa Hackl, Elizabeth Hackl, Ryan Hackl and Michael McBride.
She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and the many friends made throughout her life.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, November 18, 2019 at Fitzgerald's Southwood Colonial Chapel in Tulsa, 918-291-3500.
