Obituary

Rosemary Yarchak Hornak was born August 5 and was raised in Johnston, PA by Rose Yarchak. Being the youngest child, Rosemary was adored and spoiled by her older siblings. Her brother Charlie was in high school when she was born and would come home after football every night to rock her to sleep. Her mother was strong and instilled in Rosemary the ability to speak her mind, to not complain, and to love her Catholic faith.

After high school, Rosemary and two lifelong friends moved to the big city, looking for work and fun! It was in Cleveland, Ohio that she went to work for Republic Steel, where Rosemary met Ray Hornak. After their first date, they vowed never to go out again! Lucky for us, they gave it another shot and were happily married for 64 years! Ray and Rosemary married and transferred to Kansas City, where they started their family with the birth of their first child, son Raymond John. A later move to Tulsa, OK brought two more children, son Rick and daughter Roseanne, as well as a permanent residence for the Hornak family! Tulsa quickly brought many wonderful friends into the Hornak's life that became family, sharing holidays and raising children together.

Rosemary was extremely proud of her family - She was tough and loving and had a sense of humor and a great wit, that still came through even to the end. Rosemary was very involved in her children's schools, Saints Peter and Paul and Bishop Kelley High School. It was through this volunteer work, helping chair the Bishop Kelley auction, that led her to starting a small out of the home business with friends. It was perfect timing for her second act, as the kids were graduating and leaving for college and Ray was still traveling with work. This small home business led to the opening of Trouble Dolls, a women's boutique in Tulsa. Rosemary said that this was more fun than a job as she worked alongside close friends and forged close relationships with her customers.

Although Rosemary and Ray slowed down in their later years, they still had a wonderful quality of life and were well cared for by children Rick and Roseanne, and by caregivers Roberta and Nancy. The family is grateful for all the love and support provided by them and by countless friends.

Rosemary was proceeded in death by her husband Ray, son Raymond John, mother Rose Yarchak, siblings Michael, Mary, Nicholas, Joseph, Charles, and Roseann. She is survived by her daughter Roseanne, son Rick (Madeline), and grandchildren Casey (Tasha), John and Cate, along with many nieces and nephews, and Taylor Bailey.
