Ruby Pollard Roberts died peacefully in her sleep May 21, 2016. She was 101 years old. She was born in a log cabin on her mother's Indian allotment in Stephens County, Oklahoma, near the town of Velma Alma. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from East Central University. She married Lloyd Roberts December 25, 1941, in Las Vegas 18 days after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. She retired from teaching elementary school in Moore, Oklahoma. She is survived by her two children, Betty Jean Chuculate and Rovilla Schell (Husband Kent); two grandchildren, Kevin Stockton (Wife Rachel) and Stanley Lloyd Schell; one great grandchild, Jenna Stockton; and one sister, Velma Ketchum (husband Edwin).
Ruby's viewing will be held Tuesday May 24 between 6 and 8 pm and the funeral will be held Wednesday May 25 at 10:30am. Both will be held at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel 3612 East 92st Street South, Tulsa,
