Ruby A. Winters, 98, of Tulsa, OK, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, December 8, at Evergreen Baptist Church, in Bixby, OK, with a reception to follow. Graveside services will then be held at 2:00 PM, at Calvary Cemetery, in Tulsa.
She was born December 17, 1918, near Ada, Oklahoma, the daughter of Oran "Stell" and May (Allison) Alexander. She grew up in the Ada, Oklahoma area, graduating from Byng High School. She spent most of her life in Oklahoma City until her retirement as a receptionist for the Oklahoma City Public Schools. Following their retirement, she and her husband, Lloyd, enjoyed thirteen years living on Lake Texoma, where she became an avid golfer. They moved to Tulsa in 1997 to be closer to family.
Ruby was active in her church, and loved her church family. She enjoyed people, especially children.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hawk, of Tulsa, grandson, Rob Hawk, and his fiancé', Renee Willis, both of Tulsa, Shari and Tom Ogburn, of Bella Vista, AR, and numerous other extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Winters, and three brothers, Oran Alexander, Jr., Mike Alexander, and William J. Alexander.
Memorial donations may be made in Ruby's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
