Obituary

Sam Young, Huey Pilot, age 78, died on December 6, 2023.

Sam Young lived an adventurous and fascinating life. He was an extraordinary man who faced every situation with courage and innovation.

Sam was born in Helena, Arkansas, in 1945. He attended college at the University of Arkansas, then became an Army Helicopter Pilot and served in Vietnam. Sam Young was a Veteran and a Hero.

Sam was an entrepreneur, a risk taker, an enigma. Through the years, Sam managed a variety of businesses and traded all sorts of collectables. He was a world renowned Samurai sword dealer. He collected and restored antique slot machines. He owned waste management companies. He bought and sold airplanes. He and his wife started a matchmaking business. And there's so much more that Sam accomplished.

He was the best husband, father, and friend, there ever was. He was honest, ethical, caring, compassionate, driven, and selfless.

Sam Young left a huge footprint in this world and touched the lives of many people.

He will never be forgotten.

Sam Young is survived by his wife Frieda Young, his daughter Andrea Steffey and his son Chase Young, and his granddaughter Adrienne Steffey.
