Samuel James Vise was born on the stormy night of October 4, 1998, in Tulsa, OK, to proud parents Jill and Dan Vise. Sadly, he was tragically and suddenly taken away from us July 30, 2018, at the age of 19 during a much-anticipated family vacation. Sam joined the Boy Scouts in first grade and was actively involved through his senior year. He attained the hard-earned rank of Eagle Scout, earning 36 merit badges, the Bronze, Gold and Silver Palms, and Order of the Arrow, Brotherhood Member. For his Eagle project, he undertook the renovation of the Edison High School Cross Country locker room for his beloved team. He had many outdoor adventures as a Scout, including venturing into God's wonder, Philmont Scout Ranch in northern New Mexico. Through these experiences and spending time with his friends, Boy Scouts helped mold him into the fine young man he became. Sam attended Carnegie Elementary and went on to Edison Preparatory, graduating in 2017. He played soccer, baseball, basketball and football before finding his true joy: running for the Edison Cross Country team. After graduation, Sam went on to attend Oklahoma State University where he was majoring in Computer Science. To illustrate the kind of son and person Sam was, during his senior year of high school, he told his parents he wanted to join the Oklahoma Army National Guard to serve his country and pay for college himself, as he didn't want to place the burden on them. Sam was one week away from leaving for Basic and Advanced Individual Training, where he would specialize in Information Technology before returning to his studies at OSU. Sam loved life. Some of his favorite things were family, friends, babies, the thought of having his own dog one day, his car, talking, reading, Boy Scouts, the outdoors, the thought of serving his country, cross country running, his independence, Taco Bell, Pokemon Go, the computer he built himself, his phone, gadgets, cream horns, strawberry milk, root beer, ribs, fried chicken and brussel sprouts. Sam, your family will miss your loving hugs, bright smile and twinkling eyes, laugh, dry and witty humor and just being around you for the rest of our lives on this earth. We thank the Lord for blessing us with your presence for the short time you were ours and look forward to seeing you again. You have all our love, Sammy.
