Sara Lande Dritch was born on March 18, 1917, in Flint, Michigan, where she grew up. Of seven children in the family, she was "tied" for last, with her twin brother. She married Myer J. "Mike" Dritch in Battle Creek, Michigan, and they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
During World War II, they moved temporarily to New York City, where their daughter Ruth was born. When Ruth was one year old, they moved back to Tulsa. In 1966, Ruth married Peter Salinger.
Sara loved reading and often put her name on the lending list at the library to borrow books. She also liked gardening, particularly indoors! She had an unusual collection of decorative toothpick holders, both glass and porcelain.
Mike died in November 2000, at which time Ruth and Pete moved Sara to Maryland to be close to the remaining family. Sara is survived by her daughter Ruth and son-in-law Pete, of Bethesda, Maryland.
Contributions in her memory may be made to either: Congregation B'nai Emunah, Anne V. Zarrow Courtyard Fund, 1719 S. Owasso, Tulsa, OK 74120, or to Wilson Health Care Center, Asbury Methodist Village, 301 Russell Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
Funeral Services are pending and will be posted here as soon as possible.
