Scott Maynard Muir, a life-long resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away at the age of 66 on July 13, 2023. Surrounded by his family and loved ones, Scott left this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and inspiring achievements.
Scott was born on November 1, 1956, in Tulsa to Parke Denton Muir and Margaret Eloise Brown-Muir. From a young age, he displayed a remarkable curiosity and thirst for knowledge that would guide him throughout his life. Scott's academic journey began in Tulsa, where he attended Memorial High School. He then pursued higher education at Tulsa Junior College where he earned a degree in business management.
Scott's professional career was as diverse as his interests. Throughout his life, he excelled in various fields, including business management. His background in business led him to become a plant manager for American Trim from which he retired in 2007. Scott's dedication to his work earned him the respect and admiration of both colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, Scott was a devoted family man. He cherished his role as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to his beloved wife, Sydney, for 36 years, and their enduring love was an inspiration to all who knew them. Scott's children, Melissa and Samantha, were the pride and joy of his life. He instilled in them the values of integrity, perseverance, and kindness.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Scott had a deep passion for sports including fishing, Brookside softball and golf. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at Zink Park playing softball, or he could be found on any golf course in the Tulsa area on the weekends with his close friends. He also enjoyed collaborating with his friend's group at the numerous events that he and Sydney attended. He especially enjoyed the trout fishing trips to the White River, the fishing tournaments at Spavinaw & the "boy's weekends" at Grand Lake.
Scott's memory will forever be cherished by his loving family, including his wife Sydney; his children Melissa and husband Jay of Broken Arrow, OK; Samantha and husband Ethan of Chicago, IL; his grandchildren Chandler, Owen and Luke; his favorite cat Kiddo; and a wide circle of relatives and friends. He will be remembered for his humor & shenanigans as well as a man of integrity, intelligence, and compassion, who's spirt touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Scott's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. May his gentle soul find eternal peace and may his memory forever be a blessing to us all.

A memorial service to celebrate Scott's life will be held at 2:00 pm on July 20, 2023, at Fitzgerald's Ivy Chapel 1402 S. Boulder Ave. Tulsa, OK 74119.
