Our community sadly lost a valued wife, mother, friend, and leader on Feb. 18th, 2023. Sharon Ann Brolick was born in Detroit, MI on August 6, 1943. She earned an education degree from Michigan State University and started her career as a kindergarten teacher in Lansing, MI. After following her husband's job relocations to 6 different states and Australia, Sharon and her family found a place to call home in Tulsa in 1983. Sharon owned The Toy Station, an educational toy store in Tulsa, for 8 years, and served as the event coordinator and Tulsa Area Director for Big Brother's Big Sisters (BBBS) of Green Country until she retired in 2011. Sharon poured her heart into the Tulsa community. This included serving as a past president for Tulsa Area Alumnae Panhellenic, an active member of Phi Mu fraternity and P.E.O. (Philanthropic Education Organization), an elder at Kirk of the Hills, and a Big Sister for BBBS for 6 years. In addition she contributed her time as a member of the Childcare Resource Board, promoting quality childcare in Tulsa and volunteered for the Tulsa Cerebral Palsy Association. She cared deeply for her family and friends and always made anyone that crossed her path feel loved and accepted. Sharon enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her grandchildren, and entertaining and playing games with her friends.
Sharon was the only child of Sarah and George Carlisle and is survived by her husband of 57 years, Henry (Hank) Brolick, 4 children and their spouses, Kelly and Ray Walsh, Peter and Liz Brolick, Jennifer and Will McCuistian, Heather and Chris Zemanek, and 12 grandchildren.
There will be a ceremony to celebrate Sharon's life on Friday, February 24th at Kirk of the Hills at 11:00 am. We invite everyone to attend and remember Sharon's wonderful life.
