Sharon Lillian Nuss Ruppert, age 80, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2023, at home surrounded by her son, granddaughters, daughter-in-law, and close family friend. Sharon was born on June 10, 1943, in New Orleans, to parents Leanora and Herbert Nuss. After graduating high school in New Orleans, Sharon worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines and also as a dental assistant. She moved to Texas and met Bernie Ruppert who also worked for American Airlines. They were married on November 6, 1971 and made their home in Roanoke, Texas. Together they attended Living Word Lutheran Church in Grapevine, Texas for many years. They had one son, Jonathan Herbert, in 1974.
Over the years, Sharon worked as a teacher's aide and a hairdresser. She also shared her many gifts and talents by baking and decorating beautiful cakes, cooking for her family and friends, painting, gardening, and volunteering in various outreach and community programs and events. She loved horses, dogs, seafood, swimming, springtime, and flowers. She and her sister lovingly cared for their mother until her death in 2017 at the age of 97.
In 2018, Sharon moved to Catoosa, Oklahoma to live with her son and his family. Many wonderful memories were made over her final five years with her grandchildren and new Oklahoma friends. Sharon will be remembered as a most generous, cheerful, and motherly figure who always looked out for others' needs before her own. She dearly loved and trusted in her Lord, Jesus Christ, with all her heart.
She is survived by her son Jonathan, daughter-in-law Mary, granddaughters Brianna and Kyleigh, all of Catoosa, and niece Holly of New Orleans, as well as other dear family in New Orleans, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Michigan, and New Mexico.
