Shirley Ann Macri, 87, went to live eternally with the Lord on October 12th, 2023.
Shirley was born on October 21,1935 in Petroleum, West Virginia, to Thomas and Mabel Malson. She graduated from Cairo High School. She was the eldest daughter of 9 children. She was a second Mom to her younger siblings. After High School, she worked as a telephone operator in Parkersburg, West Virginia and was a top five finalist in the Miss Parkersburg Pageant.
She married Arthur "Mike" Macri on April 4,1959. She had a son, Gary Michael Macri in 1960, and daughter, Terry Ann Macri (now Vitt) in 1961. After a short time in Mississippi Mom and Dad made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mom took part time jobs, including modeling, teaching, and retail to help make ends meet. Once the kids were older, she started worked full time as an Office Manager in Insurance and Real estate. Cooking for everyone was her love language so nobody ever went hungry, especially during the Holidays. Mom was also a power shopper and finding bargains for her family was one of her greatest joys.
Shirley is survived by her brother Robert Malson, sisters Jo Fletcher, Marty Harper and Patti Kay Lambert; son Gary Macri and granddaughter Michela Macri (12 yrs.); daughter Terry Macri Vitt and son in law Larry Vitt, granddaughter Devin Long, son in law Jackson Long, great granddaughter Aubrey Long (2 yrs.) and great grandson Levi Long (3 wks.); daughter Bria Talbot, son in law Michael Talbot and great granddaughter Cora Talbot (6 mos.); granddaughter Kalie Meoli, son in law Eric Meoli, great granddaughter Kyra Meoli (7 yrs.); and grandson Corey Vitt and daughter in law Sarah Reape-Vitt.
Family was her World. Shirley was a wonderful loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Arthur Michael Macri on January 20, 2022.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, October 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald's Southwood Chapel, 3612 E. 91st St., Tulsa, Oklahoma followed by the funeral service on Friday, October 20th at 1:00 p.m. also at Fitzgerald's and Calvary. The Service will be streamed. It will be accessible by a link on the Fitzgerald's website.
