On April 23, 1936 a beautiful little girl was born to Helen and John Kimball. She was the youngest of five children. She was raised in a loving home and at an early age she knew that she wanted to help others.
Shirley worked in the medical field for over 20 years. She worked at various medical facilities in the capacity of an Occupational Therapist. She was exceptionally creative and enjoyed working with others. She enjoyed teaching others to appreciate their own artistic skill as they recuperated. She enjoyed painting, working with clay and various art mediums. Her last place of employment was St. John's Hospital.
Because of Shirley's love for others, particularly the elderly, she and H.L. became very active in agencies and organizations that advocated for the elderly. She was a member of the Oklahoma Council on Aging, the Silver Haired Legislature, and Tri-County Council on Aging. She also volunteered as a Long Term Care Ombudsman for several years and was a volunteer with INCOG Area Agency on Aging. Shirley was a "super volunteer" and loved knowing she was making a difference in others' lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, a brother and sister, a grandson, Carl Jr., and great grandson, Gabriel Arnold II.
