Obituary

Harold Steven Kyte, 55, died September 10, 2014, at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Harold Steven Kyte, known as Steve, was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 28, 1959 to the parents of Hurley and Mildred Kyte.

With a father in the Air Force, Steve's childhood was spent traveling the world, living in such places as Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Missouri and six years in Germany. His younger years consisted of bike riding, karate classes and excelling in little league football. After attending seven different schools, he graduated from Jenks High School where he was a member of the Trojan Pride Band.

Steve attended Park University in Parkville, Missouri. He majored in Art and participated in the musical theater program, where he created playbills, set designs and played percussion for musicals such as Godspell. In conjunction with using his creative and musical talents, the University sponsored a one-man exhibit of Steve's artwork.

On June 1, 1992, Steve married the love of his life, Patricia Jean Bridges. Together they raised a sweet little Yorkshire Terrier named Tigger.

Steve continued his musical talents by playing trap drums in the Contemporary Christian Praise Band at their church and offering his artistic skills as needed. Both Steve and Patty loved the Lord and served Him both in church and at work. On February 16, 2005, Patty went to be with the Lord.

Steve attended OSU in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where he studied the culinary arts. He continued working in the food service industry until 2009, when he became a full-time caregiver for his mother and father.

Steve is survived by his father, Hurley Kyte; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Bud Cohea; his sister, Karla Coulson; his nephews, Chris Cohea and Josh Coulson; and his nieces, Beckie Tran and Elissa Ackerman.

Funeral service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2014 at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 918-291-3500.
