Steven R. Fowler, 70, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on September 18, 2022. Steve was born on May 20, 1952 to Alice (Moe) and William Fowler in Richland Center, WI. Steve graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School and later went on to graduate from Loyola with his MBA and enjoyed a lifelong career in corporate credit. He started at General Electric in small appliances as a credit clerk in Kansas and moved all over the U.S. working his way up to Regional Director of Credit at Builders First Source, where he retired in April. Steve sincerely loved working and genuinely appreciated each one of his employees and colleagues.
Steve has touched many people - some inappropriately (I think he'd love that joke). Often mistaken for the poor man's John Denver, Steve was a self-taught guitar player and singer. He even wrote a few songs. He is best known for his infectious laughter, his love of golf, his wildly inappropriate sense of humor, "pull my finger", "there must be a frog in this room", and "at the end of the day"... we will all really miss him. He was one of a kind!
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alice Fowler, and by a niece, Lori Olson. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Fowler, his cats Raspberry and Aiden, son William "Bill" Fowler, daughters Jennifer (Mike) Walker, Shannah (Buzz) Kuhn, Jewelli (Jeff) Brace, Kim Schroeder, grandsons Landon Walker, Jaylynd Buick, Wesley Kuhn and Bryce Kuhn, granddaughters Myah Kuhn and Kaitlyn Allen, sisters Karen (Gary) Olson, Diane Greenwood, Suzy (Clark) Thompson, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Steve's memorial service will be held at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 E. 91st Street S., Tulsa, OK 74137 on Saturday, October 8th at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service in the family center.
