Susan Elizabeth Frohnapfel Bartlett died March 25, 2014. She was born in Tulsa, November 4th, 1953 to Patricia and the late William J. Frohnapfel. She was a graduate of Memorial High School and of the University of Oklahoma. Susan also attended the University of Tulsa, Graduate School of Art. She was a certified yoga and Pilates instructor and a talented photographer. She was a frequent volunteer at Monte Cassino and Cascia Hall, as well as the Philbrook Art Museum.
Susan was simply a good person. There is nothing complicated about that quality, but it was the essence of who she was. Her easy-going way and radiant smile were irresistible. There were, in Susan's life, no strangers; only family, friends and people who would become her friends. She was completely unpretentious and unaffected. It never occurred to her to be anyone but who she was. She was warm and genuine, with a natural ability to draw you in; to make you feel comfortable and at ease when you were with her.
Where others might see life as a constant challenge, Susan saw it as a gift; something to be fully embraced every moment of every day. The beauty that surrounds us and which we all too often take for granted was never lost on her. Susan was blessed with one son, Dewey Bartlett III, whom she taught the values of laughter, love, and kindness. He was a constant source of pride and joy and gave Susan much love and happiness every day of her life. She loved her son, family and friends above all. These were the relationships of a lifetime which, perhaps more than anything, made Susan's life the wonderful journey that it was.
Susan was predeceased by her father, William J. Frohnapfel. She leaves behind her mother Patricia Frohnapfel; her loving and devoted son, Dewey Bartlett III; her sisters Sandy Rodolf (Stephen), Patty McMahon (John); her brothers Billy Frohnapfel (Karla) and Terry Frohnapfel; her nieces Caroline Rodolf, Allie Day, Kaelee McMahon, Sarah Frohnapfel, Annie Adkinson and Kate Jennemann; and nephews B. J. Frohnapfel (Mary), Brendan Rodolf and Matthew McMahon.
