Obituary
Susan Mamary, 60, of Tulsa, died Sunday, February 12, 2012.
Susan taught third grade at Marquette Catholic School for more than 17 years and was a beloved staff member, teacher and friend. She was a teacher in Tulsa for more than 24 years, with the majority of that time spent at Marquette. Her students knew she cared about them and she enjoyed keeping up with them even after they left her classroom. Her peers considered her an exceptional person and example of what a teacher should be.
Susan not only enjoyed cultivating her students, friendships and family, but she also enjoyed gardening, making her world more beautiful with her care.
Susan was born on October 17, 1951 to James and Patricia (Walsh) Ferris in Kansas City, Missouri. Growing up in Wichita, Kansas, she graduated from Magdalen Catholic School and Mt. Carmel Academy. In 1973, Susan graduated from Wichita State University with a BA in Elementary Education.
She is survived by her mother and daughters, Emily Mamary and Katy Mamary, both of Tulsa.
A Rosary will be said 7 PM Thursday, at Christ the King Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be held 10 AM Friday at Christ the King.
