Susan Ponville, 57, went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2014 after a courageous three year battle with brain cancer. She was born in Tupelo, MS to Leon and Frances Brown, and remained prideful of her southern belle heritage even though she lived in several places before moving to Tulsa in 2002. Establishing roots in Tulsa provided an opportunity for her to realize a lifelong dream of opening Tea & Magnolias, a home decor and gift shop. Her passion for decorating, love for people, and her charitable heart led to her store being recognized with multiple awards throughout the years, the highlight of which was receiving national recognition with The Next Big Give Award for her support of a number of local and international charities.
Small business owner, model, public speaker, published author, advertising director are some of the ways she was known over the years. While proud of her accomplishments, she viewed her most important calling being that of drawing upon her faith to be a phenomenal wife, mother, and GiGi to her grandkids. Her love for the Lord was on display in everything that she did, maybe never more so than the way she persevered during her three year battle. Her love for people was limitless, and she had an immeasurable impact on the lives she touched and a passion for making a difference both locally and in places like Peru and the Honduras.
Services will be held Friday, June 13,2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel in Tulsa.
