Obituary

Thomas J. Basile, born May 20, 1954 in Rochester, New York to Pierina and Louis Basile, first generation Americans born to Italian immigrants, died suddenly June 21, 2013 at his home in Tulsa. As General Manager and Executive Vice President of Joe Marina Honda he never met a stranger. He spent all of his adult life in Tulsa and embraced the Will Rogers spirit of a true Oklahoman. In 1982 he married Sydney Bean of Tulsa and together raised two children.
A self-taught musician, Tom embraced every instrument but his favorites were guitar and keyboard and he could often be found playing at various clubs around town. He often composed his own songs and could play any song after hearing it only once. His hobbies included boating at Grand Lake, flying planes, cooking, and trucks with a capital "T"! His mechanical skills gave him the ability to fix anything from cars to computers and he was everyone's "go-to" guy!
He is survived by his wife, Sydney, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Rendon Kenyon of Oklahoma City, son, Christopher of Tulsa, his siblings Mary Lou Basile, Rosanne (Tom) Procopio Anne Marie Basile, John Basile, Nick (Sue) Basile and Joe (Jayne) Basile all of Rochester, NY.
A true renaissance man, Tom lived every day with enthusiasm for life, family, music, career, friends and co-workers, His endless kindnesses and quick smile will be missed by all who experienced his selfless generosity of time, expertise, work ethic and love.
A funeral mass and service will be held Wednesday, June 26 at 3:00 PM, Saint Bernard's Catholic Church: 4001 E. 101st St., Tulsa, OK 74137. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Foundation.
