Thomas Charles Colson, age 87, died on the 6th of August, 2024, in Tulsa, OK.
Thomas was born on June 7, 1937 in Stilwell, KS, to parents Elmer L. and Margarette J. Henry. He graduated from Stanley High School in the class of 1955, then furthered his education by obtaining a degree in Architectural Engineering, from Kansas State University. In January 1960, he moved to Kansas City and accepted a position as an Architectural Engineer at Butler Manufacturing, where he worked for more than 18 years.
On August 18, 1962, he married Diane Grey, and they made their home in Kansas City. In 1979, Tom and Diane and three sons moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to be the owner of a manufacturing company located in Owasso. Tom officially retired at 72 years of age.
Thomas was deeply involved with the Catholic Church, and friends he met through church and tennis. He enjoyed snow skiing, tennis, golf, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family and friends will always remember him with a smiling face with his open arms!
He is survived by his wife, Diane Colson, three sons, Michael, Steven and David Colson, his sister in-law Alison Colson, and many, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and one great-grandchild named Thomas Duane Colson.
He is preceded in death by three loving brothers and two loving sisters.
A funeral is scheduled for 10 AM on Saturday August 10, at Church of the Resurrection. Memorial donations can be sent to Church of the Resurrection Food Pantry.
