It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Tom Kelly, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Tom departed this world peacefully on April 27, 2026, in the care of the nurses, LPNs, and CNAs of Montereau and St. Francis Hospice. He was 89 years old.
Tom was born on March 31, 1937, in New York City, to John and Theresa Kelly, who preceded him in death. He grew up with his sister Theresa and brother Jack in New York and New Jersey. His adventurous life began with his graduation in 1958 from Manhattan College, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. After graduation, Tom spent two years in the U.S. Army as a chaplain's assistant at Ft. Benning, GA.
During his career, Tom worked for various companies as an accountant, auditor, internal auditor, and controller, that allowed him extensive travel both internationally and within the United Sates. He earned his CPA from North Carolina in 1970.
In July 1971, Tom married Rita in New York. Their marriage of 54 years was a tapestry woven with love, shared dreams, and lots of sarcastic laughter that kept their bond unbreakable. Together, they raised two wonderful children: Elizabeth, and Drew, who with his wife Melissa, gave Tom the joy of being a grandfather to Caden.
As we gather to celebrate Tom's life, we remember the legacy of kindness, integrity, and humor he leaves behind. The service will be held on May 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's in Tulsa, OK. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to join in honoring his life.
In this time of sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that Tom is reunited with his beloved parents, John and Theresa Kelly, and that his spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the love and joy he brought into our lives.
Rest in peace, Tom. Your journey on this earth has ended, but your legacy of love and laughter will endure.
